Numerous support groups and ongoing programs that address what cancer patients need in order to move forward are available through the Wellness Community and Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center. The Wellness Community’s professionals help you through the cancer journey, respecting your feelings and needs during every phase.

MONTHLY PROGRAMS



Breast Cancer Learn & Support Group
Saturdays, June 2 and July 7, 10 a.m.–12 noon
Location: Location: Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center, Sandstone Conference Room – North, 1111 East McDowell Road, Phoenix, AZ 85006.
 
This monthly group is for those diagnosed with breast cancer to find support and learn from one another. Sharing your experiences with others who have had similar experiences can reduce stress and anxiety. Discuss aspects of living with cancer, treatments, side effect management and survivorship. Open to family and friends.




Colorectal Learn & Support Group
Tuesdays, June 5 and July 3, 6–8 p.m.
Location: Location: Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center, Sandstone Conference Room – North, 1111 East McDowell Road, Phoenix, AZ 85006.

This monthly group is for those diagnosed with colorectal cancer to find support and learn from one another. Cooking for Health
Tuesdays, June 19 and July 17, 6–8 p.m.
Location: Location: Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center, Sandstone Conference Room – North, 1111 East McDowell Road, Phoenix, AZ 85006.
 
Chef Madelyn Pryor covers cancer-related nutrition topics. This cooking demonstration and tasting features a vegan menu. Healthy weight maintenance and meal planning included. RSVP.

Life After Cancer, What Now? - Lunch Brown Bag Event
Wednesday, June 13, 12 noon–1 p.m.
Location: Location: Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center, Prenatal Classroom (Ancillary Building, 3rd floor off the Blue Elevators) – North, 1111 East McDowell Road, Phoenix, AZ 85006.
 
Kris Cooper, PhD, Psychology Program Director at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center will  discuss how to transition from being a patient to a survivor. Learn how to define survivorship, issues surrounding survivorship, useful tools/strategies, and local resources as you move through your journey. Q & A. RSVP.
